Abstract

In December 2023, six cities in Jawa Tengah combined experienced inflation of 0.21 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.62. Of the six CPI cities in Jawa Tengah, all cities experienced inflation.

The main cause of inflation in December 2023 is the increase in the prices of red chilies, shallots, train fares, cooking oil and gold jewelry. The main barrier to inflation is a decrease in the prices of purebred chicken meat, beans, rice, squid and milkfish/bolu fish.

The inflation rate for the calendar year December 2023 is 2.89 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2023 to December 2022) is 2.89 percent.
